I often write women as my main characters because history has spent far too much time placing them in the background, even when they were the ones holding the world together. This article is about why I am drawn to female perspectives, imperfect heroines, quiet courage, sharp humour, emotional truth and the kind of strength that does not need a statue, a sword or a dramatic speech to matter.
